I'd been thinking about the ups and downs of the last 2 years that I've been back online.
I'd been analysing my successes in other areas of life (losing weight and keeping it off, quiting smoking etc.) and realised that the path to success in each of those were never a straight path.
There were many bumps along the road.
I needed to have a definite purpose and end point in mind.
I also needed to visually see the end point I was heading to if I didn't make the changes.
All this along with the commitment to do what ever is required to achieve those goals meant that over time, I got there.
Now, with online business on the other hand, I'd made a fair few mistakes the second time around.
When I entered the arena the first time in 2006/7 as an affiliate marketer, I used Chris Carpenter's Google Cash system to make it.
Yeah there were a few filed campaigns, but I managed to get profitable within the first month or two, on a very limited budget.
Then due to a few things that happened, including a move to Australia from India, I couldn't continue.
I tried to find other systems that I could use that didn't require a credit card to buy traffic, but ended up getting caught in some dodgy, push button crap.
So from about 2008 to 2013 I took a break from it all.
Ocassionally I would buy a product that didn't require a credit card for it to work, and the cycle of crap continued.
Looking back, there are a few things I could have done better.
And even after coming back to affiliate marketing in 2013, I could have bought the best possible course and stuck to it.
But unfortunately I didn't and kept bouncing from one thing to the next.
Anyway, by the end of 2014, I decided that I would commit to one program and one path for at least the first 6 months of 2015.
This commitment has been a turning point.
I haven't bounced from one thing to the other.
I'll continue to persist with the Tiny Little Businesses course till I build a few successful funnels that will help me hit my freedom revenue amount.
Once this is done, I'll scale it up and then once it's scaled up and operations are outsourced, then I'll look at the next thing.
Now, we all get ideas all the time, and they distract us. I've started writing these down in my OneNote notebook and a physical notebook that I carry with me.
I can then come back to it later, and not let it distract me.
When I was thinking about this post, I actually came accross 2 videos by people I respect.
Here is Bedros' video – Straight Line To Success
Here is Andy's video – Personal Productivity – The Most Boring Subject in the World
Both of them have some fantastic points that will help transform the way you think, and straighten your path to success.
Do take a minute to leave me a comment below and let me know how it has helped you.
Thanks for taking time to read this.
Have a fantastic day. 🙂
|Some of the links above are cleverly disguised affiliate links, which means if you choose to buy, I'd be sent a tiny commission which helps me keep the lights on on this blog 😉 . Regardless, It doesn't change my opinion, as the end result I want is for you to get the best possible advice.|
