This year has been a roller coaster ride for me.
Becoming a new dad, changed a lot of things and a job where I’m away from home for about 11 hours a day on average has made it harder, but have I given up?
I promised myself that no matter what I was going to make this happen.
Now coming to the real point of this post.
I’ve been reading some absolutely fantastic threads on the Fastlane Forum, which resulted in me buying and reading ‘The Millionaire Fastlane’ by MJ DeMarco.
I would recommend that to any budding entrepreneur.
Couple of threads by people who have contributed a lot and have had a good degree of success, has inspired me to take on the Gary Halbert 30 Day Copywriting Challenge.
Now, I realise that I’ll be taking more than 30 days to finish it, considering the little time I have each day.
But that will have to do.
From having read a couple of the books on the list previously, I can see how that would benefit my mindset, business acumen and marketing ability, while building a skill that is valuable.
If you are interested in reading about the 30 day challenge, look here –> http://www.thegaryhalbertletter.com/newsletters/zfkj_hands_on_experience.htm
Now, I like giving credit where credit is due, so here are the two threads that inspired me on this journey:
Please do take time out of your busy schedules and read the two threads, even if you are not going to be learning to write copy.
The golden nuggets on business, marketing, success and mindset are worth their weight in GOLD.
My goal is to have it finished by the 31st of December 2014, and use what I’ve learnt from it to boost my affiliate marketing and info-marketing business.
Now how am I going to do this while working 11 hours a day, being a dad and a husband?
It will be with the daily rituals and processes that I have put in place.
This means waking up at 4 am in the morning, reading the Bible and praying before hitting the gym and then sitting down to hand-write some successful ads, for 30 – 60 minutes and then spending 30 – 60 minutes on my business building activities. In the evening, and during breaks at my day job, I will be reading the books that Mr. Halbert recommends.
This means I’ll have to be laser-focused, disciplined and relentless.
All, skills that I have developed with my fat loss journey spanning 12+ years now (I’ve maintained the 30+ KG [~77Lb] weight loss for more than 7 years now).
Yes, success in any area in life can be had by reverse engineering the processes that lead you to success in one area of your life in the past.
This would challenge me to push out of my comfort zone and grow.
At the end of the day, entrepreneurship is about helping your audience gain the freedom that they want, whether that is freedom from obesity, smoking, debt, the day J.O.B or any number of there things.
We are here to serve our audience and help them satisfy their needs.
Learning copywriting I believe would help us present our solutions to our audience in a way that inspires them to take action and get results.
Have you done the Gary Halbert 30 day Copywriting Challenge before? If so, do let me know with a comment below on how you went with it.
If you haven’t done it before, would you consider doing it now that you know about it, and what it can do for you as an entrepreneur? Do let me know below.
As always, thanks for taking time to read this and I hope this has given you something to think about going forward.
Have a fantastic day. 🙂
PS. I will be writing weekly updates on my progress so others can use it as inspiration and I can use it as accountability. 😉
